Project Scope:
Our student team collaborated with Hoe-Phuan Ng to assist his footwear startup, based on patented technology, in securing SBIR grant funding. The company aimed to develop a novel, reconfigurable shoe prototype that alleviates various foot pain issues and transitions seamlessly between therapeutic and everyday use.

Team Objective:
To assist the client in preparing for proof-of-concept development and potential grant funding through technical research, low-fidelity prototyping, and foundational business structuring.

Key Deliverables:

  • Conducted material sourcing and supplier research to identify affordable options for initial product development

  • Collaborated in designing and creating a low-fidelity prototype (Footbed insert) to demonstrate core product functionality

  • Analyzed manufacturing strategies and business models, including domestic vs. outsourced production

Our team partnered with Pure Radiance MedSpa, an emerging wellness and aesthetics provider, to conduct an in-depth market assessment and digital presence evaluation. As a multidisciplinary team, we aimed to deliver insights and tools that would enable the client to differentiate itself within the competitive medspa industry.

Team Objective:
To execute detailed competitive benchmarking, recommend enhancements for web usability and user engagement, and explore cutting-edge longevity trends for strategic positioning and innovation.

Key Deliverables:

  • Created a comprehensive competitor analysis matrix, including perceptual maps, pricing structures, service offerings, and customer reviews

  • Provided a pricing perceptual map that visually placed Pure Radiance within the local market landscape

Project Title: Launch Planning and Brand Development for Peak Run Wild Alaskan Salmon

Project Scope:
Our team collaborated with Peak Run, a mission-driven startup focused on delivering premium wild Alaskan sockeye salmon through a regional CSA model while donating 25% of profits to communities in need. The company was preparing for a multi-city expansion into the Midwest and Colorado, and our task was to design and lead the planning for its official launch.

Team Objective:
To build the foundational elements of a successful launch, including brand identity, digital presence, marketing strategy, city-specific logistics, and strategic charity alignment, all in alignment with the founder’s mission to combine high-quality food with meaningful social impact.

Key Deliverables:

  • Conducted market research and competitor analysis across eight target cities

  • Led the creation of go-to-market strategy benchmarks, including market readiness, launch sequencing, and logistics management

  • Developed content and structural plans for a custom e-commerce website with a city-specific checkout experience
